For large modifiers it is not too much of a problem, but if say you roll with a modifier or +8, it can be very difficult to decipher which rolls the modifier was added to and to which it was not. The 32 will show up in green text to show that it is a crit, making it easy to roll against multiple targets using a single roll macro. Many many many more tricks, including a couple new types.
